Coustellet's market

Of the markets in the Luberon, the Provencal valley running East of Avignon, Coustellet's marche de paysan is perhaps my favorite. It is on Sunday; it is busy, but easy to managed. More importantly, the emphasis is on food. There is also an excellent boulangerie here. So there is no better way to start a week in the Luberon than with a visit to this market. The market in Apt is bigger, but it is Saturday morning so you have to be here pretty early to make that market work. I always buy rabbit. There is always one vendor with some, sometimes more. There is an excellent olive seller and a great rotisserie. These pictures are for a friend who I had told about the rostisserie and had a professional interest. This year it was raining and as you may be able to tell from the pictures, the market was still crowded. I could not get a good shot of the board due to the people traffic.
